2013 Conclave | Recap: Day Three | To Rome and beyond!

Today was another early morning as we hit the road straight to Rome, NY to see the Capitol Theatre. Operated by Art & Kylie Pierce, the Capitol is a spectacular hometown jewel and more than one THS member enjoyed a sampling from their concessions stand.

Another 45 minutes on the coach took us to Utica to the Thomas Lamb designed Stanley Center for the Arts. More than one jaw dropped at as we walked into this spectacular movie palace.

From there we hopped back on the bus to our final theatre of the day — the Glove Theatre in Gloversville, NY. Also the host to our annual membership meeting, the entire Glove Theatre Board, a host of additional volunteers and the Executive Director, Richard Samrov, were there to welcome us into their home.

Before returning to the hotel, we stopped at Jumpin’ Jacks Ice Cream Stand for the Dr. Thomas R. DuBuque Ice Cream Social. Named for beloved and longtime THS Board member Tom DuBuque, we know that he would have enjoyed this particular stop best.
