BALLYHOO IN FRANKLIN, TENNESSEE — THS QUOTED

The 74-year-old Franklin Theatre reopened Friday as a multipurpose venue.

Hundreds of patrons sauntered down Franklin’s Main Street in the evening heat to see free outdoor movies, hear a swing band and stand under the theater’s neon lights. A multimedia performance was held inside before a sellout crowd of 290 saw Gone With The Wind, an epic that premiered when the moviehouse was still young. . .
