The Delta Arts Alliance is gearing up for Saturday’s second annual spring gala to celebrate progress of the Ellis Theater renovation project in historic downtown Cleveland.

The dinner theatre fundraiser, An Evening with Cole Porter, begins at 6 p.m. and will allow patrons to see the extensive headway in the revitalized theater space within the historic 1938 building.

The ongoing project has transformed the previously unusable theatre into a possible stage area, ballroom and multipurpose space.

The DAA is remodeling the structure in hopes of providing a new and creative space for musical, visual and theater arts.

“This event speaks to the outstanding support the Delta Arts Alliance has from its members and patrons,” said Rori Herbison, interim executive director. “We are at about $12,000 right now and our fundraising goal is $15,000. We’re in pretty good shape heading into the weekend.”

All proceeds from the gala, which will feature haute cuisine and festive libations, go straight to renovation costs.

“The money raised gives us the ability to provide grants and match funding,” added Herbison. “It helps us inch closer to the completion of this project.”

Those planning to attend are encouraged to reserve a seat today, as seating is limited to 200 patrons.
