Colonial Theatre, Phoenixville, PA seen in Oscar telecast

Howard Haas reports that a historic theater was included in the Oscar telecast last night of the montage of horror films. Included was a scene from the 1958 movie “The Blob” showing moviegoers fleeing the Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, PA, visited by the Conclave. In recent years, the community nonprofit organization that rescued the Colonial restored its facade to how it looked in 1958. No doubt there were cheers at the Oscar telecast and party held inside the Colonial!

Over the last few years, they have been auctioning off the original front doors that were on the theatre when The Blob was filmed. I don’t think they have any original doors left.
