EVENT: May 19th – Colonial Theater/Phoenixville PA

THS member WAYNE ZIMMERMAN shares this event note from one of our all time favorite theaters:

Our ATOS chapter’s 3/24 Wurlitzer in the Colonial Theatre (circa 1903) is having its first “big name” organist play on Saturday, May 19, 7 PM Jim Riggs, concert and silent movie. We need a big audience because of the costs involved.
So get out there and support this event and show the Colonial Theater and their ATOS chapter that we appreciate fine talent and their wonderful theater!

If I lived nearby, I’d be there–you could count on it! Jim Riggs is not only a fabulous organist, but wonderful company–a great guy to hang out and chat with after shows. We here in the Bay Area got spoiled having him around so much as Oakland Paramount House Organist, and other appearances in our area. You’re in for a treat, and I hope folks in your area turn out for this event!

  2. Thanks, THS, for posting this! More information about this concert and the theatre can be found here: http://www.thecolonialtheatre.com/2012/events/the-general-may-2012/

    • We are happy to spread the Colonial Theater’s message to our readers, Kirsten! Feel free to send any press releases or other information of note directly to THS for our blog. Our visit to the Colonial in 2009 was a favorite among our annual Conclave travelers – such a wonderful history AND such a warm, welcoming staff!
