  1. I worked at the Catlow for 9 years in the 50′s and 60′s, starting there before I was even in high school. This lead (in later life) to working for General Cinema Theatres, owning my own theatre for 22 years and finally a video store in Milwaukee (23 years). They have a wonderful website:
    http://www.thecatlow.com which is quite fascinating.
    The catlow opened in May of 1927 and was designed by the architectural firm of Betts and Holcomb, who also did the Des Plaines and Deerpath Theatres in the Chicago suburbs. Interior design was by Alfonso Iannelli, who also did the Pickwick Theatre in Park Ridge, IL.
