Town Hall ‘Opera House’ included in book

BY CHAD KLIMACK • Standard Reporter • January 6, 2010

PATASKALA — The Sterling Theater sits atop Town Hall, a now-silent reminder of the community’s past.

Reynoldsburg author Michael Hurwitz would like to see it restored and filled with the noise of people applauding theater productions and films.

Hurwitz is so enamored with the place he included it in his just-released book, “Ohio’s Historic Opera Houses: Theatres on the Second Floor.”

Sterling Theater is one of 15 small-town Ohio theaters Hurwitz featured in the book.

“Pataskala’s (theater), with minor tweaking, minor adjustments, could be up and operational in three to six months,” Hurwitz said.
