Friends of the Boyd Weekly Update

(1) Last week, we reported on the passing of STUART FELDMAN. He was an
ardent supporter of historic preservation, including the Boyd Theatre. He
also proposed the National Constitution Center for Philadelphia and the
Martin Luther King memorial for Washington, D.C. His successful work to
establish important nationwide programs for our veterans also ensures that
he will be remembered as a national hero. Here is a link to Saturday’s
Philadelphia Inquirer obituary:
The July 15 Inquirer editorial is here:
The July 15 Washington Post obituary is here:

As to the Boyd Theatre, much activity continues behind the scenes. As soon
as there is something definite, we will inform you.

(2) On July 13, Drexel University posted classic TV commercials for candy.
The post reminded many of us of the movie theater candy of our youth. Enjoy
