Historic Chillicothe Theater Reopens After Fire

Saturday,  November 20, 2010 12:12 PM    WBNS-10TV

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — An historic Ross County theater reopened on Friday, a few weeks after it was damaged in a fire.

Musician John Berry performed the first show at the Majestic Theatre since the fire on Nov. 4.

The venue was hosting a Gospel concert performance when the blaze started.  A curtain backstage caught fire and flames traveled to the theater’s second floor.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire a short time after they arrived at the scene.  A few people suffered smoke inhalation but no one was seriously hurt.
