Ideal Theatre, Clare, MI

The buses rolled into the lovely town of Clare, MI for a lunch in the historic Doherty Hotel (1924).  After lunch, it was a quick trip across the street to the Ideal Theatre.

The Ideal Theatre opened its doors in 1930.  Its neon marquee is a wonderful sight along McEwan Street. The Ideal was part of the Olson Circuit in the early sixties.  By 1981, the Ideal had been sold to Willard Koch of Clare, MI.  It currently operates as a first run house.

That cool mint color must be very welcoming on a hot day. And what a fun place to see the new CARS movie!
