Jack Cook at the Wurlitzer! Sun Sept 25 – Stadium Thr/Woonsocket RI

Upcoming Event
Sunday September 25,  2011  2  PM, Stadium
Performing Arts Center, Woonsocket, RI.

An 85th Anniversary (1926 – 2011) celebration will take place at the theatre.. A “stellar” cast of vocalists and dancers will participate.

The theatre was closed for several years, but reopened in September 2001 following a complete restoratiion. Jack Cook, house organist since 2001 (and curator- restorer of the Style H,  2 manual 10-rank ”original, intact” instrument), will entertain at the console. Music from the “Roaring 20s” will be featured.

In 2006, this Wurlitzer received an “Historic” Citation from the American Theatre Organ Society.  It has also been called “a rarity” by several theatre organists because very few “originals” still exist, and are still playable in theatres.

Tickets are a “modest” $13 (general seating).
