LA’s Orpheum stars in another commercial!

It’s getting to be a pretty common sight – the majestic LA Orpheum Theater adding magic in an unexpected commercial cameo.  We had lots of hits when we posted the Kia Soul commercial featuring the Rapping Hamsters under the iconic marquee.  And now another of the Orpheum’s well known signs provides the drama for a Verizon Thunderbolt spot.  Our own Ed Kelsey mentioned that this was actually filmed from the May Co. building’s roof, across the street.

There is also a shot of the United Artists Theater tower at the beginning of the commercial.

We have to tell Ed that there are 2 burned out bulbs in that rooftop ORPHEUM sign!!! Way to go!!

I too noticed the United Artists tower as well. I did not notice the bulbs out on the Orpheum sign though–way to go, Don!
I also liked the little logo at the end that gives more than a nod to the old RKO logo.
