The Friends of the Kentucky Theatre (FOKT) has received a $10,000 grant from Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky in support of their $1.5 million theatre renovation campaign.

Toyota’s contribution will be used specifically to help purchase and install a digital projection system, upgrade lighting in the facility to energy efficient LED lighting and to do basic upgrades such as replacing worn out seats.

Toyota is partnering with the non-profit Friends to ensure the Kentucky Theatre continues to serve Lexington and the surrounding region as a venue for diverse educational, cultural and arts programming.

To date, a total of $285,327 has been raised toward the campaign goal.

The mission of the Friends is to preserve, renovate and enhance the Theatre and create a fund for its continued maintenance over the coming years.
