Library Must Have: Where The Movies Played in Downtown Pittsburg(h) by THS Member Jim Kastner

Where The Movies Played In Downtown Pittsburg(h) by James W. Kastner is now available on www.rosedogbooks.com  and through Amazon by accessing the link on the THS website.  www.historictheatres.org – (Editor’s Note: Scroll to the bottom of the page and use the THS partner link which returns a small commission to THS)

It covers a 100 year history of theatres in Downtown Pittsbugh (1896-1996) from the times images first began to move on a screen. The book is full of history, trivia, personal stories, great artwork and lots and lots of movies titles.

One of the inspirations for the book stems from the meeting of late THSA member, Fred Beall with the author at the 1988 THSA Conclave in Columbus, Ohio. Fred is fondly spoken of in the book. My purpose was to entertain an educate the readers. Enjoy!
