Elmhurst Museum Day visitors board the city sponsored trolley in front of THS headquarters at the York Theatre.

Yesterday’s 16th annual Museum Day in Elmhurst brought out the largest crowd ever to THS.  In four hours we welcomed 407 visitors !  The other three participating Elmhurst museums also reported high attendance. The Chicago Tribune did a great 2/3 page story on the event last Thursday as an alternative to the closed museums in NATO Summit Chicago which probably helped boost the turnout.

Hats off to volunteers Ron Dopke, Cheryl Turner, Dave Nuetz and our summer intern from Aurora University, Scott Noblitt.  Office assistant Freeda Cannon did a great  job checking in visitors, handing out the kid’s activity and doling out prizes.  Archive director Kathy McLeister had the new display “From Film to Digital” ready for viewing.
