New use for old boxoffice in Milwaukee

THS Director and Awards Committee chairman Don Bohatka in Milwaukee sends this news about the Warner / Grand / Grand Cinemas on Milwaukee’s downtown main street. We saw this all silver and shiny Deco themed prize during our 2007 Milwaukee to Minneapolis Conclave/ Theatre Tour. Its Rapp & Rapp from 1931 with 2400 seats.

“The former Grand Cinemas, empty since the movie theater went dark in 1995, will be getting a bit of new life this spring. The theater’s ticket booth will be renovated into a kiosk to provide information about downtown Milwaukee to visitors, and newcomers, said Beth Nicols, executive director of the Downtown Management District . . .”
