The article repeats a frequent error that the Meserole was originally called the Garden. What nonsense! The Garden was another theatre on Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint. The Meserole was built and named by the Small & Strausberg circuit, which sold it to William Fox during the acquisition fever that eventually caused his bankruptcy.
