Old Timers Extra Players Club, Los Angeles ?

SeekinG  Information about the other William Fox. If you can help please add a comment to this posting.

Have you ever heard of the Old Timers Extra Players Club? My Great Great Grandfather was William Patrick Fox. He moved out to Hollywood in the early 20’s and supposedly played several minor roles in some silent pictures. I was told he was an extra in Ben Hur (1925). With the name William Fox he may have used a stage name. In the 1938 Los Angeles Directory he is listed as the manager of the Old Timers Extra Players Club. I went through the city directories and found it listed from 1926-1939. In all the other directories it was just listed as the Old Timers Club, but at the same address. It lists Carl Jensen as president in 1929 and Daniel Ansley as the secretary-treasurer in 1926 and 1929. It was located at 111 West 3rd Street, 129 West 3rd Street and 253 1/2 South Grand Avenue (in 1939). It appears that he lived at 512 West 2nd Street the majority of his time in Hollywood. He died there in 1951. Any information or leads that you could give me would greatly be appreciated.

 Thank you,
 Greg Fox
