Philadelphia, PA-Lansdowne Theatre Featured in movie

Philadelphia member Howard Haas informs us that the historic movie theater featured in the new movie “Silver Linings Playbook” is the Lansdowne Theatre in the Philadelphia suburbs.  Click here for the Lansdowne Theatre’s history.
Also featured in this “made in the Philadelphia area” film is the interior (grand lobby and ballroom) of the historic Benjamin Franklin Hotel (built 1925), now the Ben Franklin House, an apartment house in downtown Philadelphia. Appropriately enough, “Silver Linings Playbook” is very popular at Philadelphia area historic cinemas including the Ambler, the Bryn Mawr, and the Hiway.
