FULLERTON — The Fox Theatre in Fullerton is starting its first phase of renovation in August or September, preparing the building for commercial tenants.
In addition to the main theater space, there is room for three to four storefronts and a large, 13,000-square-foot space called the tea room that used to be a dance studio, and then a restaurant.
Leland Wilson, president of the Fox Historic Theatre Foundation, said the initial phase of renovations will include an overhaul of the exterior of the building and refurbishment of the tea room and the interior of the commercial spaces. In addition, though the main theater space won’t get a makeover right away, it will be up to code to open again as a theater featuring live performances.
