Portage, Chicago gets new owners

THS Board member Don Bohatka in Milwaukee provided this link. Biff Buttler in New York City also provided a link to a story on new owners. THS member Dennis Wolkowitz manages the theatre, programs a silent film series, and helps keep the pipe organ in shape for film accompaniment.

“After months of uncertainty, the Portage Theatre is under new ownership. The
current tenants who run and manage the cinema received a letter Wednesday night from an attorney representing the new owner informing them of the change,  effective Sept. 1. . . .”
