ALAMOSA — Kent and Sandra Holtcamp’s new restaurant offers locals more than a way to satisfy their appetites for Italian food.

When diners walk beneath the neon sign at the Bistro Rialto on Main Street, some also are stepping back to the spot where many saw their first movie or went on their first date.

“We have a book because so many people have fabulous stories to tell us,” KentHoltcamp said.

When the Holtcamps served their first meals in December, the occasion marked the end of two years’ worth of labor to restore the former Rialto Theater.

The theater closed its doors in 1997 and nearly burned to the ground in 2003.
