The last stop of the day was the Mayan themed State Theatre. This 1908 theatre opened in 1908 as the Bijou, but was renovated by C. Howard Crane in 1930 to resemble a Mayan temple and renamed the Bay. In the 1950s the marquee was replaced and it was renamed again to the State. In 2000 the Bay City Downtown Development Assoc took over the operation of the theatre.

I see very obvious similarities to the Fisher, in Detroit. Coincidence? Nope.
