STILL TIME! Capitolfest in Rome NY AUG 14 & 15

IT’S NOT TOO LATE!  You can still be a part of one of the greatest summertime film festivals in New York State – possibly the whole Northeast, maybe even in the whole US of A !!

Get yourself to historic, picturesque, bucolic Rome, NY in Central New York State, home of the world famous Capitol Theater for Capitolfest!!  The price is reasonable, the pace is leisurely and the company is outstanding!  PLUS you might just share a “Meet & Meow” with Miss Kallie, the Grand Feline Princess of the Capitol Theater!

35mm prints of rare silent and early talking films, shown with variable speed, carbon arc projection in Rome, NY’s historic Capitol Theatre, an Art Deco and Modernist movie palace built in 1928 and updated in 1939.

We seek to make this fun film weekend as relaxing as possible, with ample intermissions and dinner breaks. Our goal for the festival is also our tagline, “A vacation, not a marathon!”

Rome, NY in a smaller city (population ca. 35,000) in the heart of Central New York and the Mohawk Valley. There is lots to see and do in and around the area, from the Adirondack Mountains a short drive away to the New York State Erie and Barge Canal systems to a variety of historic sites, so be sure to plan a little extra time to enjoy these attractions in addition to the films.

We hope to see you in August! (read less)
