Founded in 1969, THS is an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit educational and historical organization which records the architectural, cultural and social history of American theatres and promotes awareness, appreciation and serious study of them.

We serve as a resource for members, researchers, architects, preservationists and others through our publications, archives and other activities, and are an advocate for the preservation, restoration and reuse of America’s historic theatres.
