Film Exchanges in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh is rich in theatre and film history, and as part of our holiday Pop-Up Nickelodeon, we’d like to share some of the information on display in the exhibit, located at 811 Liberty Avenue, in the heart of the city’s Cultural District.

Brothers Harry, Herbert, Earle and Joe Miles set up the first film exchange in 1902, which led to more than two dozen exchanges in Pittsburgh alone!
